Abstract:
Newcastle disease (ND) is a serious disease of birds. ND virus (NDV) was analyzed by checking the hemagglutination activity (HA). The various factors like vaccine concentrations (0.5% and 1%), buffers (PBS and saline buffer), incubation temperature, incubation time and pH of saline and PBS buffer were varied and the effect of these factors on HA activity of NDV was observed. It was observed that the maximum HA activity was obtained at pH 7.4 and concentrated vaccine showed good activity as compared to diluted vaccine. Micro titer plates incubated at room temperature showed better HA activity.
